The Victron Energy Orion-Tr IP43 12/12-Volt 30 amp 360-Watt DC-DC Converter is an isolated converter designed mainly to charge lithium or Gel deep cycle batteries from an alternator. It takes the alternator voltage and converts it to a charging profile suitable for deep cycle batteries. The product is not Bluetooth enabled, but it can be monitored with the Victron Bluetooth Smartshunt and app. If you're using the 9A model and draw more than 10.5A, you'll need to get a larger unit. The converter is of the 12/12-Volt model, and this needs to be checked as Victron also carries and sells 12/24/48 Volt models. The Orion can be used to power 12Vdc devices as long as the limit of the isolator is not exceeded. The customer service is reportedly excellent, and the company will send a replacement for defective products under warranty.
