Legere Reeds Oboe Reed - European Scrape - Medium Soft Review The Legere Reeds Oboe Reed is a great investment for any oboe player looking for a reed that is easy to play and lasts longer than traditional cane reeds. According to one customer, after about three weeks and 20-something hours of playing, the reed sounds the same as when it was first used. A clarinet player recommended the Legere reeds and said they last a year for her. The oboe reeds are not expected to last that long because of the small tip but can still provide months and months of playing. There is currently no American scrape reed, but it is in development. Legere reeds go through extensive testing before being released on the market, so it may take some time before an American scrape reed is available. One review mentioned a problem with inserting the reed into the well. However, it is an easy fix by having a good technician ream out the reed well. One customer had this done and now the reed fits perfectly. Overall, the Legere Reeds Oboe Reed is a great investment for oboe players looking for a high-quality, long-lasting reed.
