It lasts longer than other moisture barriers, as it isn't easily washed off. This saves time and effort, as the application of the cream is less frequent. The 3M Cavilon skin protectant disappears into the skin, leaving no residue. This allows tapes and adhesive dressings to adhere more readily to the surface. The 3M skin protectant contains dimethicone, which has conditioning properties that shield the skin from irritants and prevent moisture loss. It's compatible with CHG-based products and won't cause allergic reactions.
