They are wide enough to be comfortable to hold, but not thick enough to fit in a traditional US chalk holder. It is easy to use on almost anything except perfectly smooth or glass-like surfaces. The chalk comes in six fluorescent colors, all of which fluoresce under UV/black light. The chalk is not phosphorescent, meaning it does not have long-lasting or residual properties when activated. Using near-UV light sources can improve the visibility of the chalk colors. There is no evidence to suggest that the chalk is not washable after use, but because it is coated, it may not be dustless. The packaging needs improvement as some customers have reported broken, unusable pieces upon delivery.
