What is the durometer hardness?
Answer: I have no idea but now when I shoot at them the bill goes in instead of bounce out -

Answer: I measured them with a micrometer and I believe they are 1/8 inch thick -

Answer: No they go on the rail then the felt is place over the cushion -

Answer: 1/8" use two on each side to make your pockets tight . Makes you a better player. -

What purpose do they serve?
Answer: I’m no expert but, it seems they cushion the ends of the rails and help secure the rubber to the wood. When I did mine I used contact cement to attach the rubber bumpers to the rails, trimmed the ends, then put contact cement on the ends, attached the cushions with staples to the wood rail, and clamped the part of the cushion to the bumper with tape until cured. The I trimmed the cushions and put on the felt with 77 adhesive.
