The Coleman Classic Backpacking Stove is a great workhorse of a burner that is strong, stable and easy to adjust for a simmer. It has a wider kettle grill and is just more stable, making it perfect for outdoor cooking. The burner is bigger and provides a more dispersed flame, allowing it to hold the biggest skillet or the smallest camp cup. It's a bit heavier, but not enough to trade away the stability that comes with this design. The stove is big enough to easily handle but light and small enough to be perfect for backpacking. It's able to burn butane or propane fuel with the help of a Lindal Valve (EN417) to a 1lb propane bottle or with any ISO butane/propane fuel mix tank. The flame control is very good and can blast well and simmer well. However, it cannot be used as a small heater in a pop-up tent deer blind because of the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning.
