Answer: The purpose of the rope is to turn the fan on and off and to adjust the speed that the fan turns. Pull once for fast, a second time for medium, a third time for slow, and then a fourth pull will turn the electricity off to your fan. -

Does this use/need the capacitor?
Answer: No capacitor needed. I just changed out the switch, not the capacitor. -
Question:
Does this product come with the wires installed?
Answer: Yes, the wires are attached to the switch. You just need to use a wire nut and connect the leads to the wires coming from your motor, matching the colors of each wire.
