Penguin Pottery - Clear Glaze - Low Fire Glaze Cone 06-04 for Low Fire Clay - Ceramic Glaze Pottery (1 Pint | 16 oz | 473 ml)
The Penguin Pottery Clear Glaze is a low-fire glaze and is best worked at cone 05 or 04, which is 1870°F to 1945°F. This glaze can be applied over underglazes, it's not an underglaze itself. One thin even coat over underglaze is sufficient. When applied too thick, the finish may appear cloudy. Although it's possible to apply this glaze on greenware while single firing, it's recommended to bisque fire wares first. The product can be applied on top of other glazes to give a smooth finish. However, one should note that it's not suitable for using in home ovens. The reviews are mixed. Some customers have used this product before and love it, while others have been disappointed with the finish. A customer reported that the clear glaze turned out to be milky when fired at cone 5, and another stated that the glaze turned out patchy when fired at cone 6.
