Format: Blu-ray Blu-ray Editorial Review
**** The "Drunken Master (Special Edition)" DVD has garnered enthusiastic acclaim from its viewers, with many describing it as one of Jackie Chan’s finest achievements. Celebrated for its immaculate choreography, this film showcases the blending of traditional kung fu with high-energy comedic elements that Chan is revered for. The visuals are praised as nothing short of spectacular, embodying the dynamic cinematography typical of classic kung fu cinema. Characters are vividly drawn, each resonating with a unique personality that contributes to the film's rich narrative. One standout feature of this release is the enhanced English dubbing, which outshines many past versions known for their poor voice synchronization. Viewers noted that the voices match the characters flawlessly, making it an enjoyable experience. The film’s storyline, while simple, is infused with humor and charm. It follows Wong Fei Hung, affectionately nicknamed "Freddy," as he learns the art of drunken kung fu under the guidance of his quirky great-uncle, So Hei. This mix of comedy and action culminates in a memorable showdown against the formidable Thunderleg, leaving audiences both entertained and satisfied. Furthermore, the special edition is lauded for its high-quality audio and video transfer. Fans appreciate that it includes all scenes in their entirety, a quality enhancement over previous releases. For collectors, the inclusion of a booklet and special features adds value, making this a must-have for any Jackie Chan admirer. Overall, the "Drunken Master (Special Edition)" is not only a tribute to Chan's legacy but also a celebration of the kung fu genre, providing entertainment for both new viewers and long-time fans. **
