Answer: The electric field/non-contact voltage detection feature uses a small antenna inside the case to detect AC power voltage. The meter beeps and displays the intensity of the voltage through a bar-graph on the display. It can also be used to check if something is safe to touch by using the red probe for physical connection to the conductor. -

Answer: The meter has low impedance to bleed away voltage that may be present from crosstalk. This helps prevent confusion when an unconnected wire runs parallel to a live wire and capacitively couples voltage to the dead wire. -

Answer: The PM100 meter checks for any voltage applied while trying to measure resistance. If a resistance is measurable, it will be displayed. If there's any voltage present, the unit will switch to voltage measurement mode and display that. -

This meter is tiny and looks sealed; can I replace the battery?
Answer: Yes, the PM100 has a replaceable CS2032 lithium coin cell battery. It has a battery life of about 200 working hours and can be replaced with a small cross-head screwdriver. -

Answer: No, the PM100 does not have a built-in stand.
