Nutritionist's Take
Mullein drops, particularly those containing chlorophyll, are often marketed for their potential benefits in supporting respiratory health and promoting lung cleansing. Mullein (Verbascum thapsus) has traditionally been used in herbal medicine to alleviate respiratory conditions due to its anti-inflammatory and soothing properties. The inclusion of chlorophyll is also notable, as it is believed to have antioxidant effects that may help in detoxifying the body. However, while these drops may offer certain benefits, it’s crucial to approach the health claims cautiously; more scientific research is needed to validate them. Potential drawbacks include the lack of standardization in herbal supplements, which can affect ingredient quality and efficacy. Additionally, those with allergies to plants in the same family as mullein should exercise caution. Overall, while these drops can be a supplementary aid for lung health, they should not replace conventional treatments or a balanced diet.
